Steam’s original UK price for Horizon Zero Dawn was £32.99. Since then, however, it’s gone up a whole seven pounds, putting it at £39.99. Some fans believe the price spike to be a mistake, as Sony didn’t warn about this new increase in price.

The UK isn’t the only country seeing this happen either apparently. Internet forums such as Resetera are reporting that game’s price rose in Argentina as well. Most currently believe the price spikes are happening because select individuals are abusing their VPNs to get around Steam’s regional pricing, which lets them grab games like Horizon Zero Dawn cheaper than they’re supposed to be.
Sony hasn’t addressed the situation, and there’s no telling when or if they will. However, PC gamers interested in the title have been expressing their distaste with the price change on Horizon Zero Dawn’s Steam discussion page. This uproar may incentivize Sony to address the issue soon.
Horizon Zero Dawn launches for the PC on August 7, 2020 and is available now on PS4.
