Once Aloy makes it to the Embassy, she’ll eventually have a conversation with Commander Nozar and Studious Vaudis. Aloy wants to start heading out further west, and she doesn’t want to wait for the tribes to arrive, but the commander insists on Aloy waiting for the third clan to arrive, which upsets Aloy. This will give players two choices, but one of them doesn’t really change anything, and the other progresses the narrative....

Forbidden West’s major death is notably distinct from Rost’s, since it happens near the final hours of the story, but they’re tied together by their treatment. Both deaths place a grave on the map that Aloy can visit to pay her respects and reflect on what’s happened since their death. Guerrilla Games seems to like giving players a place to mourn a character, which is somewhat worrisome, since it means a major character could die in the next Horizon game too....

The main series should stay focused on delivering single-player stories, but a Horizon spin-off could deliver some co-op fun for those who want to experience the world with a friend. While some players may have more fun creating their own character, the addition of Beta to the franchise could open the door for a different type of experience. Aloy and Beta are essentially the same person with different upbringings, and Guerrilla could give players the reins of each in a new adventure through this post-apocalyptic world....

Guerrilla Games has posted several new job listings between September and October that hint that things are moving quickly on development of its next game. On LinkedIn, the company has 16 open job positions with several having been posted in the last week. Three days ago, the Horizon Zero Dawn developer began looking for a Java developer who would, “among other things” help to create the game’s animation system, physics engine integration, and the networking layer....

More than 100 people gathered in rallies across Iowa and Michigan on Saturday to protest COVID-19 vaccine mandates, chanting slogans such as “stop vax bullying,” “my body, my choice, the land of the free,” and “mandates belong in socialist countries,” among others. In Iowa, several Republican state lawmakers, including Representative Jeff Shipley and Senator Dennis Guth, gave speeches against required inoculation. During his speech, Shipley called vaccine mandates “a crime against humanity,” while Guth said Iowans would become “mindless cattle” if “we don’t stand up for freedom,” the Des Moines Register reported....
