It’s great to see the sequel living up to the spirit of the first Horizon game, but every sequel must expand in both big and small ways to help the franchise find its ultimate direction. One small but significant way that Horizon Forbidden West could change has to do with mounts. Although armor lets players customize Aloy’s appearance to some degree, there’s no way to customize mounts in Horizon Zero Dawn....

The last tweet Guerrilla released in the series described the Sunwing, one Horizon Forbidden West’s new flying machines. However, today’s tweet focuses on machines known as Tremortusks, land-based enemies that fans will recognize from the game’s announcement trailer. As pointed out by Reddit user jmcc84, the mission where Aloy has to save Erend that was shown during the State of Play doesn’t actually happen in Horizon Forbidden West. In the State of Play footage, players see that Erend has been captured by some of Regalla’s rebels, and Aloy sets out to save him. Things get out of hand when it’s revealed that the rebels have a Tremortusk (basically a mechanical elephant) at their disposal, and then an epic fight between Aloy and the machine ensues....

A video recently shared on the Horizon subreddit provides a special tip for Horizon Forbidden West’s frustrating Thunderjaws. Many players have had a rough time with Thunderjaws, particularly on harder difficulties, due to the enemy’s lasers. The Thunderjaw ejects a large number of drone-like machines that each target Aloy with a laser that follows her as she moves around. The video creator has a simple solution for the problem – shooting the small laser drones....

One thing that players new and old might find about Horizon Zero Dawn’s early hours is that the game requires Aloy to run everywhere.
